President Trump gave a speech on 6/29/2017 in which he confirmed plans for the United States to develop and export American Energy around the world. Long dependent on Middle East oil, the U.S. has moved past this limitation and is now in a unique position to achieve the energy independence it has sought.
The new plan includes domestic and offshore drilling, exporting LNG to South Korea by way of Louisiana, rebuilding American nuclear energy capacity, selling America’s abundant coal supply worldwide, and building a pipeline to Mexico to export petroleum.
Many GOP constituents have stated that America’s EPA regulations are excessive and have limited the country’s ability to meet its energy independence goals. President Trump has rolled back many of these regulations since taking office. The new energy initiatives are expected to create numerous jobs within the next 2 years.
